    Do your research !

    • By doing the proper research up front, you can save a lot of time, a great deal of money, and you can prevent a great deal of potential problems that may otherwise occur. By doing your research, you will be able to tell where your invention stands and whether or not it is worth pursuing.
    Below are a list of resources including books, web sites, and organizations that may be helpful for your invention Remember, one of the most important steps in the patent process is research. Be sure to do your research related to your invention, from its originality and application to its market possibilities. By taking the proper steps and planning carefully, you increase your chances of a successful invention.

    A non-profit educational organization. Here you can meet with experienced inventors and entrepreneurs in the northern Virginia area. Every month they have a meeting with presentations and discussions concerning intellectual property protection and innovation processes. It is an excellent opportunity to learn first hand from inventors and to network with inventors and entrepreneurs.
